HIT Lab NZ using DWARF

Good news - the HIT Lab New Zealand is using DWARF - the Augmented Reality framework developed in our research group at TU Munich (I was responsible for the User Interface parts). See the screenshot below for a visualization of a set of connected components running in New Zealand :-)

Franz the Gentoo Guru

Franz is a big fan of Gentoo Linux. We are currently working together on a project that fosters the advantages of Gentoo over any other distribution. However the long compilation times can be quite tiresome sometimes. See the picture below where Franz fell asleep in the lab in front of his laptop. If you watch the screen carefully, you can see the gcc output :-)

Fall in New York

Fall in New York is great - I like the city better now than in the summer when it was often unberably hot ...

ISMAR - coding like mad

I am locked in my hotel room now for 3 days with 3 other guys. We are coding like mad.... Less than 48 hours to show our demo at ISMAR , but still too much to do ... The conversations are really geeky
(major in computer science required to understand this ;-)
Nick(configuring linux kernel): Do you think 2 Gigabyte of User Memory Space are enough?
Chris: Dude, my scenegraph is 2.5 Gigs.
Nick: Is that all loaded at once?

Check out a picture of our room:
