Siggraph

Back from SIGGRAPH. I saw lots of interesting stuff there, e.g. at Emerging Technologies: Lumen, Dis-tansu, HDR, iLampl, PopUp, ZENetic, Circular Floor, The Invisible Train. Some funny movies from the Electronic Theater: Attack of the Note Sheep (awesome!!!), Cortex Academy, Gears and Bunnies. My favourite at the electronic theater was a sequence from Ghost In The Shell 2 - only 3 weeks until it gets to the theaters! One of the nicest papers I attended: BD-Trees. Be sure to check out their breathtaking movie! I learned about Change Blindness and had lunch and some interesting discussion with Alan Kay - this even got blogged. The two weirdest things were the keynote by Bruce Sterling (as someone else has put it: Best attempt to straddle the fine line between "visionary" and "raving lunatic") and the Wearable Computing Fashion Show (in my opinion: Best attempt to straddle the fine line between high-tech and medieval torture clothes). I also bought the amazing book "3D User Interfaces" and got it signed by Ivan! Still I had time to get the worst sunburn for a long time :-) Another cool movie: Bullet-time with only 8 cameras
